Instructions

1. Make sure all materials are clean and sterile. Preferably soak the syringes in a sterile solution.

2. Prepare the food to be used and let the mixture cool down to body temperature (38°C).

3. Fill the feeding syringe with the wide nozzle with the food and squeeze gently to ensure that the food is flowing properly.

4. If necessary, wrap the animal in a towel during feeding to keep the animal under control.

5. Squeeze a little of the food out of the feeding syringe and touch it to the tongue. This should feel like a teat and trigger a sucking reflex. Keep feeding the animal until it seems satisfied.

6. If this doesn't seem to work, fill the small feed syringe with food. Gently place this in the mouth of the animal and let a few drops fall into the cheek so that the animal starts to swallow. Never squeeze too much food out of the syringe at one time, otherwise it could end up in the lungs.

7. Repeat this feeding every 2 to 3 hours until the animal is strong enough to drink from a bottle.
